I was wondering, how do users access their files by default on ispconfig3? I have tried hostname.com/user/ hostname.com/users/user/ and whatnot, but can't seem to find it. I'm sure this is a really obvious question, so apologies.

Another issue: how can I generate a default FTP account for users for their root directory?

    thanks!

There are no user websites, so not sure what you want to access in a directory with the name "user".

Well basically so users without a domain of their own can simply have a way to access their files via my domain, this was possible on ispconfig2, just via /users/username :s

    thanks for your help :)

There are no user websites available in ispconfig 3 as ispconfig 3 uses virtual users for FTP and not system users. Virtual users dont have their own FTP Directory. If you want to access the files of your shell users from your main website, you can do this e.g. with apache rewerite rules as it was implemented in ispconfig 2
