Delete Vista off Ubuntu Linux server?

    I found a post the some one recommended for me to view. I installed the partition editor but when I go to delete the windows partition it says I don't have permission to delete. I can't wait until windows is out of my hair. Thank You Ryan

    Did you install GParted?

    Try to run GParted with root privileges:
    Code:
    sudo gparted

    This is the error I get when i do sudo gparted.

    error: libhal_acquire_global_interface_lock: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.InterfaceAlreadyLocked: The interface org.freedeskdesktop.Hal.Device.Storage is already exclusively locked either by someone else or it's already locked by yourself

    Maybe You should try to do the same with an independent live cd with GPartEd on it. Remember to unmount Windows partitions first.
