I was setting up fail2ban. I was suppose to delite the file jail.local then I was going to create it again. I delited the file jail.conf insted. How can I corect this? do I need to uninstall fail2ban and reinstall? if so can you please point me to how to do this? thanks.
I would suggest to reinstall. How to depends on the distro you use and then use its package manager. For debian/ubuntu use aptitude, for CentOS / Fedore use yum (if you do not have apt installed) and for SuSe try yast. Normally the switch --help will give you the necessary commands...
