Is any performance issue using a desktop rather a server box. I try to run Skype on a headless box but I having some issues with Java. I decide to use Linux desktop. Does the graphical interface has issues with performance? Best regards, Al
Running a desktop on a server always means a performance penalty, but as far as I know you cannot run Skype on a server.
Thax But is a big difference in performance? I am having problem with my x server. Can we leave with it? Regards? AL
Depends on how much your server is stressed. If it has nothing to do, then a desktop doesn't hurt, but if the load is high, then I wouldn't run a desktop on it.
