    Hi all,

I want to setup a local dev environment to more or less duplicate my live environment.
That will be 2 x DNS, a few email, web and db servers.
The installation instructions require a public IP from what I read. Is there a way to bypass that and have everything up and running with Virtualbox network setup?

    Thanks

You can install ISPConfig without a public IP without any issue. Just be aware that this may come with some challenges depending on the testing you are doing.

I wouldn't recommend doing this. It will be hard to keep track of all changes and make sure the systems are identical. Testing can almost always be done on a single server, or at most 1 master and 1 slave server.

The installation instructions require a fixed IP, not necessarily a public IP. But as the instructions are for installing hosting servers, such an IP is typically a public IP. But if your system is for testing only, you can use private IP's as well, there is no difference. but be aware that you will not get any Let#s Encrypt SSL certs then.
