    Hey everyone,

I'm having trouble with DNS, and just noticed that it wasn't working. Here is just a little bit of background on the situation: I just moved ISPConfig over from an old server (And to be honest I'm not sure if it was working before I moved it). Currently the setup is ns1.mydomain.com is going to a windows box that I custom enter the DNS entries to. And NS2.mydomain.com is going to ISPConfig. Now I just turned off DNS on my NS1 box and couldn't locate any of my websites.

DNS does seem to be running on the ISPConfig box. However it is not configured as a slave. I figure this is most likely the problem (But I could be completely wrong). I was just wondering, Is there a way to have ISPConfig update DNS records when say, I add a new website?

Please let me know if you have any troubleshooting tips or if you need any data.

    Thank you once again!

Enable the "Create DNS" Checkbox in the site settings.

Will this also work for slave DNS? Because that currently my ISPConfig box is a slave

You have to check that checkbox on the master, not the slave. The slave will be updated automatically via a zone transfer.

Will it do this even if ISPConfig isn't installed on the master?

The slave will be updated automatically, but if there's no control panel on the master, you will have to modify the zones on the master manually.
