I just got ISPConfig up and running (using the ubuntu 6.10 perfect setup) and am first looking to to figure out how to get my domains to point to this server now.

Currently, I have paid webhosting with dreamhost. Although I bought my domain(s) through directnic. Here is what I've done so far...

    - gone to directnic and was able to 'create' two name servers ns1.domain.net and ns2.domain.net. Both are pointed to the same ip (the ip of my router, which forwards port 80 on the server 192.168.0.100)

    - i've set the domain to forward to my new nameservers.

    - i've deleted the entries of this domain from my paid webhost (doing a small test domain first, no worries)

    - I've created the domain in ISPconfig, but really don't understand fully where to start or how to configure it properly... can anyone help? link me to a good how-to? or just tell me what fields I neet to set within ISPConfig?

    Thanks in advance.

A good but long DNS how to can be found at:
    http://langfeldt.net/DNS-HOWTO/BIND-9/

Another good tool to start at is:
    http://www.dnsreport.com/

Check your nameserver(s) through their online tool. The warnings and failures you will find have short explanations and usually have a link to info on how to solve the issue.
