I have a website hosted by an outside data warehouse and they handle the DNS records at this current time. I am setting up ISPConfig on a fedora 4 box by following "The Perfect Setup". I want the new server to handle email, dns, and ftp and for the site hosting to point to my other box in a data warehouse since I have sites that run asp.net.

My question is what do I name the new box? I was going to name it mail.mycompany.com but it will be handling the DNS to so should it be called ns1.mycompany.com or what. And after that how do I get it listed as a TLD so I can pull my domain name account up under godaddy and point to my new DNS box?

    Thanks for any help.

You can point as many FQDNs to your system as you want, e.g. mail.mycompany.com, ns1.mycompany.com, ftp.mycompany.com, etc.
