hi, i have a problem with dns server configuration. i have ubuntu server 17.04 in my virtualbox oracle VM then i have configured all files configurations of bind9 then when i try the command nslookup mydomain view some output like that connections time out ; no server could be reached so i suggested that bind is not in service so i try the command "service bind9 reload" the output of this command is bind9.service is not active, cannot reload.
then i try command "service bind9 status" view this output:
    ● bind9.service - BIND Domain Name Server
Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bind9.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
    Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2019-03-20 21:40:10 EAT; 3h 35min ago

Take a look at the /var/log/syslog file to see which errors yoz get there for bind / named. Most likely the zone file that you created contains errors.
