Hello all, If a client delegates his domain to my dns servers, but no zone or web page is created for that client, it will show and error in the browser. What I want is this: If someone delegates his domain to my dns, and no dns zone is created, I want to give back to every browser making the webpage access request, a common web page with the following text (for example): "Welcome!, you site is delegated to our DNSs servers and ready to be set!" Do someone knows how to make this? Sorry for my poor english, if my idea is difficult to understand, I will try to re-explain it using more rich and better words... my english knowledge is really limited... Thanks in advance
I know of a hosting here in Argentina that have this working. If I create a domain and delegate to them without being a client, automatically I have a "welcome to -hosting company-, you DNSs are pointing to our servers, you can now upload your files". Of course, If I am not a client I can't upload nothing, but them in some way are capturing the dns request and giving back a "welcome" page. I will try to research, if someone can help, this could be usefull for everyone!!! Thanks in advance
They probably create a zone for the new domain automatically with default records that point to their welcome page vhost.
Maybe what you say could be correct, but, how they detect when a domain is delegated to create an automatic zone? is there a way to define a zone "*" to redirect all requests without zone to a default site?
