Hello, I have an ispc3.2.6 conf with ubuntu20.04 server. I try to set manually domain alias. I build a firt domain domain.com and a second domain domain.tech (2 different clients) I create email : [email protected] I try to send a mail to [email protected] but I didn't receive that mail in [email protected] email box... Should I create an email [email protected] ? many thanks
i don't think you can create a domain alias between different clients. i'd be surprised if you could actually, considering the possible security implications. but if you're trying to send email from *@domain.com to a domain.tech address, then yes, you'll need an email address on the domain.tech domain, whether that's a full mailbox, mailforward, catchall (basically a wildcard mailforward), or alias.
Currently, domain "Alias" doesn't work. I didn't set up email addess for domain.tech. I understand I should create one. I'll test that. What is quite strange is that when I send a email to [email protected], postfix doesn't reply there is no destination email...
This is correct, you cannot create a domain alias under one client for a domain that belongs to a different client.
Create an email forward from [email protected] to [email protected]. Email forwarders allow you to send emails to addresses that you don't own or don't control.
yes and email forward works. my idea was to run domain alias... I though I can save email address creation with domain alias. but seems not to be the case ?
I did and it works very well without creating twice an address : only domail.com is enough ! thanks a lot
