Hi falko, Noted with tks. Postfix is running. I can send mail to myself but failed sending it on Internet. I don't know whether ISP has blocked port 25. Is there any way checking it. If YES, then how to go over this blockage. Tks. I have a free dynamic domain registered with DYNDNS.ORG for this test. The problem is my ADSL broadband also running on dynamic IP. However it seems changing only on connection (I'll continue monitor it) The ADSL modem is one end connected to the server with CAT5 cable and another end connected to telephone wall socket. I suppose it is only a modem without firewall running on it because no setup is needed. I have been googling around for doc re setup server on dynamic IP. I only found; http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/fr_index.html?/main/main.html but it is for MSWindow. Have you had any recommendation? TIA. Yes, you are right. I'll have it installed later. Please use satimis.homelinux.com. ubuntu is no FQDN. That depends on what email accounts you want to create.

It's not a good idea to test with Yahoo, Hotmail, ... accounts because they block emails if they come from dynamic IP addresses, the domains don't have proper SPF records, etc.

This is what I get: Code: mh1:~# telnet satimis.homelinux.com 25 Trying 58.152.181.13... and then it hangs. Make sure Postfix is running and not blocked by any firewall and that your router forwards port 25 to your server. Did you ask your ISP to make sure they don't block port 25?
Hi falko, "58.152.181.13" is the "IP in Database/DNS" on DYNDNS.ORG. On registration they asigned this IP to me. Each time my IP address changed. They update it on their server. I noticed that each time clicking satimis.homelinux.com, it pointed to "58.152.181.13". But I don't know why they did not redirect it to my running IP address. I don't have router here, only an ADSL modem which is solely a modem. No setup is required. I called their hotline. I was answered by a girl of their customer office. She did not understand what was port 25. After consulting her technical office she came back saying this was confidential. So I think it would be better for us to check it ourselves. Tks. Then you should check if ddclient is running properly. If no setup is required, I bet it's not just a modem, but also contains a router. Ask your ISP if there's a router in that modem. If they can't tell you if they block port 25, you should consider moving to another ISP (maybe one that also gives you good hardware, i.e., a real modem and a real router).
