I am using ISPConfig 3 I created a domain called: domain1.com After, I created a domain alias called domain2.com that points to domain1.com Now, when ever I create a new email, domain1 is not listed as an option. Only domain2.com is available to create a new email. Why is it doing this? I created it awhile back, but only today realised the non-availablility of the domain1.com domain for emails. I did not notice it, because the domains are very similar, so it slipped by me. Ideas of why it happens, and how to correct the situation? Thanks Joseph
Are you sure that dmain1 is the email domain and domain2 is the alias? The behaviour that you describe happens when domain2 is the email domain and domain1 an alias, as alias domains shall not show up for email addresses as the are redirected to the domain were they are an alias for.
Hello Till, Thanks for your reply. Logically, I woudl 100% agree with you. But, it is indeed that alias that shows up as the email address domain. Only oneof the domains is affected by this problem. If you need, I can give you access to look at it. In addition, this might, or might not be related. Domain1 has an issue if once in awhile, that domain just stops resolving. I get a page not found. I can wait around awhile an dit eventually comes back. Or, I reboot the server and it comes back. I think that there is a glitch with the domain in general. But, I wanted to ask first. Thanks Joseph
