Hi there So far I've managed to get rid of some of the unwanted email addresses that ISPConfig initiates, by changing to individual web sites and using the external mailserver option. But my virtusertable still suffers from many, many unwanted email addresses like Is there any way avoiding this, as I really just wanna use as little email addresses as possible and don't except any others at all. Cheers
If you don't like the user prefixes, you can decide to remove the prefix within ISPConfig under Management > System Config > Settings. The disadvantage of this is that the system users, which are created by ISPConfig are more difficult to recognise. Your clients will receive a an error message if the user which they want to create already exists. This can be avoided by using the prefix.
Thanks Hans, but it's not about the prefix as such — it's why are they used to create an email address in the virtusertable and therefore just more email addresses where spam has to be fought off… If they did not exist, postfix would reject mails to them right away. The virtusertable is just twice a large as needed that way… Cheers
