ich habe ein master (web) und ein mailserver. wenn ich jetzt email nutzer hinzufüge dann werden die benutzerdaten sowohl auf dem master als auch auf dem mailserver angelegt. wieso ist das so, es würde doch auf dem mailserver reichen, oder? die frage kommt auf, da wenn ich jetzt die passwörter von squirrelmail oder ähnlichen programmen ändere, diese momentan nur auf dem mailserver geändert werden. ist das so ok, oder muss ich sie auf beiden rechnern ändern (best practice)? was ist der hintergrund dass die daten doppel gespeichert werden
The master server contains all data of course, otherway you wont see any deatils in the interface. The slave server gets a copy of the data that is required for that slave. If you have multiple slaves, then each salve gets only "his" date from the master and no data for other slaves. If you use one of the squirrelmail or roundcube plugins that that use the ispcpnfig remote api, then its ok. If you manipulate the mysql datbase directly, then your changes will get overwritten.
