Hi all! My workmates heard some rumors about dist-upgrading Debian to 13. During the upgrade the Dovecot upgrades itself from 2.3 to 2.4. After the upgrade the config files change because of a new configuration syntax. Do anybody have experience? I use the "default" dovecot config from the how-to -s.
Do not upgrade, the config is not compatible. Please wait until we announce Debian 13 support for ISPConfig.
Yes. In principle, like @till said above, do not upgrade main OS or service softwares, unless and until they are already supported by ISPConfig. However web site based softwares like phpMyAdmin (data manager) or even Rouncube (mail manager) or elFinder / other web ftp (file manager) is possible to be installed and updated manually, provided one know how to manually do it fully, or use a good working script. A little bit deviated from the topic, ISPConfig setup via its auto installer currently will always install PMA latest version, so it can be updated manually or automatically via @Th0m's PMA script (as I am not sure whether ISPConfig auto installer new feature integrates @Th0m's auto update PMA script feature as well). And a little bit more deviated from the topic, I already shared elFinder web ftp script, and also now completed writing one script for Roundcube Auto Update (from apt version to latest version) in my folder at ISPConfig Git but I haven't shared it in here yet though it is roughly production ready, due to some intended features are not integrated yet, like option to install if no Roundcube is installed yet. I just like the idea when ISPConfig have all that useful managers with latest version ready.to be used by installers / users upon setup, and they all will always be automatically updated. Sorry if this is deviated too much from the topic though some pointers are also made above.
