Is it to be expected that some Sieve errors (here: the editheader plugin for Sieve, which is needed for one mail account, was not found after dovecot.conf had been rewritten, so the filter for that account did not compile) cause incoming mail to disappear? I would have thought that mails would just get filed into the inbox instead of being sorted/filtered/forwarded or whatever the Sieve filter would be supposed to do? In my case, all inbound mail was lost until I repaired the configuration. Cheers, Etc
Solved... As there was a redirect involved, too, I would have needed to look into the first mail account in the chain, not the last. And that's where I finally found the missing mail.
