    Hey there Till, Falko,

I was trying to find a howto that included the implementation of Dovecot.

The title of The Perfect Server - OpenSUSE 11says "...r with SMTP-AUTH and TLS, BIND DNS server, Proftpd FTP server, MySQL server, Dovecot POP3/IMAP, Quota, Firewall, etc."

but directs us to install courier.

Can you suggest an alternative scenario for the implementation of Dovecot? Or perhaps anything I should look out for by omitting the courier steps and just installing Dovecot?

I am not going to be using ISPConfig.

    Thanks,

    David Grant

You can use YaST to search for a Dovecot package and then simply install it. Normally dovecot doesn't need any configuration and works out of the box.
