Hello, please help me, someone ?! I'm desperate, because every now and then my Webserver (Suse 10.1 / Ispconfig) is brought to its knees by the loads of spam. The average load goes up to a max of about 130 (!) and this is because of dozens of perl processes trying to kill the spam. What can I do about it? I have already done the clamd 'patch', but it does not seem to work well enough. I cannot find a proper solution in the forum, or maybe it's because the hints are widespread. Perhaps someone could help me please? And maybe it would be a good idea to put the different hints into this one thread? thank you, regards, Tom
Well, I don't know how to figure that out, because the spam gets deleted immediately on most accounts. Could you give me a hint? The Server is an Athlon 64 3700+ with 1GB RAM (DDR400) . I was thinking about putting a bit more RAM into it, but this cannot be the solution. Thank you, regards, Tom
Pflogsumm might be a solution: http://www.howtoforge.com/mailgraph_pflogsumm_debian_etch Also, do you try to reject emails at the MTA level? http://www.howtoforge.com/block_spam_at_mta_level_postfix
