I was thinking of setting up either a dual monitor setup or one very large monitor, and, for the large monitor, can't find info on anyone having done this. I figured to get close to the screen real estate I would get a 36 inch monitor, but would like a resolution of something like 3200x1800 (16:9 form factor). I've seen plenty of dual monitor setups, so it doesn't seem to me this would be any more difficult than supporting 1600x900 (or 1600x1200 in 4:3 aspect ratio), but I've not been able to find anyone that's done it nor info on what cards or monitors to use. I'm using Debian 2.16. TIA, anw
I think the problem will be to find a graphics card that supports such a high resolution. And still, if you find one, I doubt that Debian has drivers for it.
Thanks for the reply. The thundering silence I've gotten on the forums I've asked this on has led me to the same conclusion. The model I saw in an architect's office was a high-end Apple that had a huge 9:16 aspect ratio monitor hooked up, and, knowing Apple's OS was Linux, just assumed there would be a large selection of options. Well, you know what assume means... Thanks again, anw
