Hello to you all, I Build a server following howto: The Perfect Server - CentOS 5.5 x86_64 [ISPConfig 3]. During the configuration of ISPconfig I missed SASL and PAM in the list. Is this a problem, and if so how do I install them. Another question after building the server I tried to run yum update. I got a lot of dependecy problems. Is it wise to install yum-utils and use the package-cleanup program. Does anybody know a tutorial how to use ISPconfig 3? Looked for it but couldn't find one. With kind regards Ad.
If you've followed the tutorial to the letter, then everything's fine. Please make sure that you exclude Postfix from the updates because if you don't, it is possible that a Postfix update without MySQL support gets installed. An ISPConfig 3 manual will be released soon.
Hi Falko, I'm building it again, I used a repo for dovecot maybe that is a problem. I also use gnome, but it seems to function. I excluded postfix as told in the howto. Does it matter where you put the lines in the base and update chapters. Below the enabled line or below the key-line. After my post I read you are writing a manual. So I will wait patiently! Ad.
After rebuilding the server according the howto SASL and PAM where there. Maybe there was something wrong using the repo for installing Dovecot. I noticed there where a lot of i386 files installed, with a x86_64 equivalent. After removing all those files, yum update functioned. With kind regards, Ad.
