eGroupWare on ISPconfig

    I am a noob to Linux, ISpconfig and eGroupWare. I applauded everyone who keeps these great applications rolling along and everyone whom takes the time to post on these excellent forums. :D

    I have installed Ispconfig about 6 months ago. 3 websites, email and all other configs on ISPConfig work great. I am now trying to add the eGroupware application to one of my sites. I followed the directions, wget file to /tmp directory. Tar file to /var/www/web1/web, now looks like /var/www/web1/web/egroupware. I have chown to match the owner:group of the web1 directory. When I try the http://www.(mysite).com/egroupware/setup I recieve a 404 file not found. From the web log I get ..."GET /egroupware/setup HTTP/1.1" 404 1181 "-" ...

    I was hoping someone could help me figure out what I am doing wrong.:confused:

    For Sh1t$ and giggles i unzipped a fresh download of egroupware into a test website /var/www/web3/web/. I chown'd the egroupware directory and the privileges now match that of the web3 directory. When I go to the http://website.com/egroupware/setup I get the same errors.?

    I then created a test directory and copied the index.html so it looked like this: /var/www/web3/web/test/index.html. I chown'd the permissions to match and when I go to the site http://website.com/test/index.html I am able to see the html.

    Next step I copied the same index.html to the egroupware directory and chown'd the permissions. When I go to the site http://website.com/egroupware/index.html I get the 404 error.

    For some reason the egroupware directory is getting locked with some permissions file?

    Just a guess,:confused:

    You have an .htaccess file there. Rename it, e.g. to _htaccess, and try again.

    Hm... Maybe you have an .htaccess file in one of the above folders? What does the vhost configuration of that vhost look like?
