    I set up a new server with unbuntu 15.10 and a new install of ISPconfig, using this guide https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial...l-pureftpd-bind-postfix-doveot-and-ispconfig/ I followed the guide making no alterations except for using my domain name.
    I can create email accounts and log into them via round cube but can neither send or receive mail. I used a gmail account to send test emails and they never arrived but neither did I get a failure. I ran the common issues script, let me know what further information you may need.

    Code:

    Did you setup your new server as MX-record for your testing domain?
    Did you set the hostname of the server like "machine.domain.tld" and not just "domain.tld" leading to virtal domain name duplicates since the hostname and probably one mail domain exist twice in the config then.

  3. Chris H

    Chris H New Member

    Yes mx and DNS records all already exist, this is just new hardware and the server is configured as servername.domain.tld

    Did you made the changes for /etc/postfix/master.cf as mentioned in the tutorial? If your server is not sending mail, check your mailqueue with mailq - you`ll see the pending mails - and the reason.

    I did indeed make the changes, here is the master.cf
    I sent an email from my gmail account and ran the mailq command and checked it over a few minutes and it only reported that the queue is empty

    And you have
    inet_interfaces = all
    in the main.cf?

    Try to send a mail and show the mail.log

    Ensure that there is no white space in front of the submission line in postfix master.cf file.

    Thank you, that was indeed the issue. My server is now accepting mail.
    I am also able to send mail through an email client. However roundcube is not able to send. I compose a message and hit send and just nothing happens, any suggestions?

    That's probably a issue in roundcube and not the email system. There was a bug in the ubuntu RoundCube package that was mentioned here in the forum a few weeks ago incl. a bugfix, maybe this affects you as well. Try to search for that.
