    Hello,
I have used Ubuntu as mail server for a long time. And I have often installed it with help from howtoforge, thank you.
    My question are:
in earlier "Perfect server" the IMAP (courier) did use (only) SSL and port 993. The last one, 10.04, did not. How can I enable SSL and disable uncrypted traffic on port 143?

To be honest I do not know how to disable the imap non ssl.
But you can configure your courier imap ssl at /etc/courier/imap-ssl. To run it, just start /etc/init.d/courier-imap-ssl (or you need you use the service command since ub 10.x).
