When i login as a client and when i select any website from the structure tree, then click any tab on the ISP Site form: the folowing error occurs: ------------------------------------------------ The following error occurred: Field: Domain Only the following sign are allowed: a-z A-Z 0-9 - ------------------------------------------------ Now my clients can not make any setting anymore! What is this an who has the same problem? I guess i am not the only one.
Hi priority! Hi, To be honest, i wanted attention. Sorry for my double post, but for me a serious problem! The clients have no functions available anymore! I am happy that i am not the only one, which means it must be a bug in the new 2.2.4 version. This MUST be solved soon! If anyone has the same problem let me know.
It's not a bug, and it's working for me. Can you post one of the domains exactly as it is in the domain field? I guess it ends with a dot or contains some other characters that are not allowed.
I double checked and there is no dot or forbidden char. More - the thing works when I'm logged in as an admin user - the error is only for the final client login.
I've just finished 2.2.5, it will be available for download tomorrow. It comes with the old domain regex... Going to bed now...
Falko, Thanks for your quick reply! Dear Falko, It was not nice to complain about the bug in the client module. Sorry for that, but we have to be critical to maintain a certain quality! I found the bug, when i was translating all the forms on the tabs. So i "walked through" all forms within ISPConfig. V 2.2.4 looks nice, and i appreciate the work, i really i do! But, although ISPConfig is open source, with "stable", i expect that a new version like this is fully (as much as possible) tested. I guess this version was not... When something is functioning for admin, it does not mean that it works for a reseller or client too. Is my conclusion. So, please test the software, to avoid problems for (many) clients. Thanks for your quick reply on that late hour! Tomorrow is a new day for 2.2.5!!
So it does not make sense to upgrade from 2.2.3 to 2.2.4 because of inoperability when adding / chaing domain stuff? Or wich functions are affected as well? @Hans: Sure you are right, but if there are not enough beta volunteers, it's quite hard to present new features early with a high quality. But nevertheless the update should take more time then...
@Ben ISPConfig offers us so much already. At least all the basics we need (and more) for a hosting control panel. Of course, we have to upgrade for security reasons from time to time, but i think we have to take a little bit more time for implementating new features. New features are very welcome of course, but i prefer a more slower but secure developement. Fast & good are two things. ISPConfig is very nice and it has a good reputation. Let's keep it that way!
The problem is, the new regex is working, and it makes absolutely no sense to me that it works for admin, but not for clients... I have to ask Till what happened behind the scenes. Anyway, I think we will disregard from now on all posts asking when the next release is ready.
Yes, please wait until 2.2.5 is relaesed. I just upload it to sourceforge. We will discuss how we can make the release process better, e.g. by providing public betas to avaoid problems like this in future.
Thats the reason why we splitted the development already in stable and dev branch. But the problem with the regex is not a newly implemented feature, it is a bugfix of the old regex that closes the door a bit too tight
ISPConfig 2.2.5 is now available for download. http://www.ispconfig.org/downloads.htm We are searching for beta testers for future stable and dev releases, if you are interested, please send ma a PM or email to dev [at] ispconfig [dot] org.
upgrade 2.2.4 to 2.2.8 doesn't fix client domain problem Hi I finally got round to upgrading 2.2.4 tonight as I have a new client who want to use the client control panel login. The upgrade/installation completed without a hitch. However when I try to login as the client I still get the error "Field: Domain Only the following sign are allowed: a-z A-Z 0-9 -", which was apparently solved with the 2.2.5 bugfix. Should I have upgraded to 2.2.5 first? If so do I have to re install 2.2.5 or will that mess up my nice new 2.2.8 installation? Thanks, Mike
Downgrading doesn't work, so don't do it. What version does ISPConfig show under Tools?[/QUOTE] Version 2.2.8 Is there a patch or a config file tweak I can do? I think I am competent to apply it ... Cheers Mike
