Hi Guys, I tried to update from a recent installation of ISPConfig Version: 3.2.4 to Version: 3.2.5 however both ispconfig_update.sh and ispconfig_update.sh --force give me the following error "This software cannot be installed on a server wich runs ISPConfig 2.x.". The original 3.2.4 installation was done using using the Debian 10 autoinstaller. Any ideas on how to proceed with the update would be appreciated. Many Thanks, -Benjamin
Is there ISPConfig folder on your root folder as if I remember correctly it will also check for it before proceeding with the install or update.
You probably have a folder that's normally used by ISPConfig 2 and therefore the installer stopped. Check if there is a folder /root/ispconfig which you manually created, if it's there, remove or rename it.
Thank you for the prompt replies guys. Thom this was a fresh 3.2.4 install on a new Debian10 server so no previous installation of ISPconfig. Ahrasis and Till thank you both. Yes indeed I had failed to remove the /root/ispconfig folder I previously created to do the install. Once removed that resolved the error I was receiving. I am assuming that ISPconfig 2.x used /root/ispconfig for it's files so the installer correctly checks for that folder. Thanks again! -Benjamin
Yes, ISPConfig 2 used the folders /root/ispconfig and /home/admispconfig and the ISPConfig 3 installer checks for these folders.
