I have an Ubuntu 16.04 server with ISPConfig 3.1. I've got problem with my Ethernet connection, although the Wifi connection works fine. I have seen many issues related to the Ethernet connection not working, but I still can't manange to fix it. I tried adding a new connection through the following path: Edit Connections... > Add > Ethernet > Create... > Device But it doesn't show any device. Which device should be there? Does Code: lspci show ethernet devices? Once you figure out what Ethernet devices your computer has, check you have drivers loaded for those. Especially on laptop computers I have seen ethernet devices where I need to download the driver from someplace. And big server iron, there also driver may not be included in default Linux kernel. Command dmidecoce may be useful when figuring out what hardware computer has. Or maybe lshw.

The lspci command shows devices. Indeed there are no Ethernet devices, not even WiFI. Does command lsusb show the WiFI device? Does the computer have a wired Ethernet port? Does BIOS show it as disabled?
