Hi, The Problem: Each time I've updated ISPConfig I had to manually disabling Amavis content filter by editing postfix configuration files, and of course if I missed something the mail server becomes broken. I known that ISPConfig asks during update if I want to reconfigure services or not. I always let it reconfigure the services because I don't know whether there is something in the updated version needs to reconfigure some service, as a caution I let it reconfigure the services and the result is re-enabling Amavis as well. Question: How to avoid this by excluding Amavis content filter form being configured/reconfigured on ISPConfig update process, or even exclude it from the the whole installation ? Thank you in advance.
While I have no definite answer to your question, mostly because I don't know what problem Amavis causes you, may I ask you another: Instead of fighting against Amavis, why not try to make it work? This way, any future upgrade will be painless
I'm not fighting Amavis!, with the respect to it there is two reasons for me to disable it: 1) When I let it works, it causes randomly memory overflow, and as a result the mail service become unstable, it seems to be a memory eater. 2) I prefer to fight spam at the client's end. So the question still stands how to just disable it in a decent way ?
