I have asked for this several times, but no one has ever sent me one. I can;t for the life of me figure out how to get fail2ban to work properly with my setup. I am running Debian Lenny and ISPConfig 3.1.6 at the moment. I followed the standard Perfect Server configuration. Can someone please send me a configuration file that works? I have tried to use the how-to for Debian Etch, but it does not work for my system. The configuration never loads properly. Thanks.
On debian lenny, just install fail2ban with: apt-get install fail2ban and then do this modifications to avaoid conflicts with the iptables firewall: http://www.faqforge.com/linux/contr...ute-instead-of-iptables-to-block-connections/ no other files have to be changed
So all of the other services will be protected as well. I just want to make sure that people attacking the mail server, ftp server, or any other service for that matter will be blocked. Thanks.
