Fail2ban problems?

    Hi folks,
Had a strange happening earlier, server would ping but I couldn't access server by SSH or :8080 :(

I'm wondering if this could have been caused by fail2ban or something else in the ISPconfig panel setup?

If so, is there a nice easy way to whitelist IP ranges, also how would I configure f2b to release any ban after say 30 or 60 minutes.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

You can take a look into the fail2ban.log in /var/log to see if you had been banned by fail2ban. But bing should have stopped working as well when you are banned, so I guess the issue was not caused by fail2ban. There are no banning mechanisms in ispconfig itself (except for rejecting the login when there are too many failures, but you would see the interface with an error message then).
