I got this email today, and I get a red serverstate in ISPC. Backup directory /var/backup could not be mounted. The command /usr/local/ispconfig/server/scripts/backup_dir_mount.sh failed. What have I done now? Well yesterday I worked most of the day trying to figure out how to use IPv6. And I finally succeeded. (Well I cheated and had help from ChatGpt - it had to do with my router with OpenWRT). The only thing I have been working with on the server is seting up static network address for IPv6. So I have a hard time to connect that to the fail I'm getting on the backup. When I look for the file at this path: /usr/local/ispconfig/server/scripts/backup_dir_mount.sh it is not even there. And to make a sanity check I looked for thre same file at my other server. The file isn't there either. What can I do to fix it?
It is generally ok that this script is not there, its optional, unless you instructed the system to explicitly use it. The problem is probably that you enabled System > server config > "Backup directory is a mount?" checkbox while your backup directory is not a separate mountpoint. Uncheck that checkbox again.
Sorry looked at the other server. It was checked and I have just unchecked it. But I don't understand how it can be, because I swear I have not changed anything in there, and the last backup I have is from yesterday. But I'll keep an eye out now.
