Hi. I already read the forums, so by now I know that the PHP error itself is not the culprit, so here are the errors before it: It starts with compiling correctly, and then the errors begin. First OpenSSL is a problem, then PHP. Anybody knows what to do? I run Debian 4.0 on a Dual Core Xeon (my kernel is X86-64, maybe that's a problem?
This problem occurs if you try to run a 32Bit debian userland on a 64Bit debian kernel. Please use either the 64Bit debian installation CD instead of the 32Bit CD to install your system or switch to a 32Bit kernel.
Oh, can you explain to me what a "userland" is? I used the netinstall .iso and apt-getted my whole installation afterwards, but I used the i386 one... Guess I should have used the amd64 iso then, right? It's also true I'm using a 64bit kernel now. What is the best solution to this problem? Will switching to a 64bit OS and kernel give me a high performance boost? Will switching back to a 32bit kernel give me a performance drop?
Userland means the reast of the operating system which is not the kernel. yes. If you dont have more then 3 GB RAM, use the 32Bit kernel. Otherwise you should reinstall your server with the amd64 iso.
