"failed to bring up eth0" problem!

    Using Debian 3.1 Stable Sarge!
    when my linux boots, it shows all kinds of info. i did notice that at one point it says:
    Code:
    failed to bring up eth0
    does that mean that my network adapter is not working? please provide some help and info!

    ifconfig
    Also, what's in /etc/network/interfaces?

    how do i post the output? i would put here everything that says there, but i don't know how! :( help please!

    Login to your server with an SSH client like putty for windows, run the ifconfig command, mark the output with your mouse. Everything marked with the mouse in putty is copied automatically to the windows clipboard an you can paste it to the forum.

    Might be a little difficult if the network isn't running... :p

    In that case you have to type everything you see on your Linux system instead of doing copy & paste.
