My second problem it´s how yo make work webcam, any ideas?? I've check capture options and there is no camera, am trying to find device and appears as a USB Camera... any ideas?? Thank you
Hi, please give me some information about your WLAN card. It should work, if you disable your network in all runlevels and enable the network manager as described here at step 4.5.1 & 4.5.2. After a reboot of your system you should be able to connect to your wireless network as described here at step 11. I used a Laptop with a built-in Intel 4965 WLAN card for this howto. It could be tricky to get your webcam working - depending on the manufacturer and the model of your device. A few webcams are supportet by the Gspca/Spca5xx driver. A list of supported devices can be found here. If your webcam is in the list, you can enable it by installing the kmod-gspca package from livna - how to add the livna-repository to your system is described here at step 4.3 .After a reboot your webcam should work. If your webcam is not in the list you should have a look at the Linux UVC project. How to install this driver etc. is described there. Best regards, Olli
Thank you for your reply, the wireless controller it's a Intel Corporation Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Ne. I've did something unusual and seems that it's working: I was connected to a regular cable connection and I just wanted to tried out to see if am able to connect, and guest what just did.. Am concern about a password that it's asking when am trying to connect to wireless network... There is any way to remove it?? About the camera, I've loaded WinXP and just came out as a USB Camera... Thank you in advance.. Regards
Ah, the gnome-keyring... please have a look at http://www.howtoforge.com/installation-guide-fedora8-desktop-p3 (step 4.10) . About your webcam - enter... su - %rootpassword% lsusb -v | less ... and search for your webcam. When you found it, you'll also see the vendor id & product id. With this data you can search your webcam in the lists that I mentioned in my first reply. Olli
