    Hello,

I'm new to linux and I'm trying to load fedora core 6 onto an old HP Kayak XU Pentium II. When I get to the fedora splash screen I hit enter to install in graphical mode and I'm getting the following error message: Loading initrd.img....isolinux: Disk error 28, AX = 4280, drive 9F

Boot failed: press any key to retry....

Am i wasting my time trying install fedora on this box? Any suggestions?

    Thank You,

    ocean

Also the other error i'm getting is Disk error 2F, AX = 4280, drive 9F

    thanks again for any help

I think your disk is corrupt, That is the CD that you are using to install
    Code:
    0x80
``Disk timeout''. The disk or the drive isn't ready. Either the media is bad or the disk isn't spinning. If you're booting from a floppy, you might not have closed the drive door. Otherwise, trying to boot again might help.
