Hello. First-time poster here, but I DID search for resolutions to this problem. I followed the L.A.M.P. guide as close as possible, but when I got to the end of p.3(yum install...), my problem arose. I opened up a terminal window(xterm), logged on as root(su), and wrote the line: "yum install fetchmail wget bzip2 unzip zip nmap openssl lynx fileutils ncftp gcc gcc-c++", but it only let me install "ncftp". I went on to this forum, and I found another guy who had the same problem(well kindof). I changed 1's to 0's in my "fedora-extras.repo"(/etc/yum.repos.d/) on the line 'gpgcheck'. I proceeded to do the yum install, but it didn't let me install anything at all, just like before. What could my problem be? Surely it must be somewhere along the lines of my repository files? PS: I have the firewall, AND SE Policy thing(sorry, too lazy to fetch the name for it, but I take it you know what I mean, hehe. It's almost 5am here...) off. Thank you. -Carl
I guess you're referring to this tutorial? http://www.howtoforge.com/installing_a_lamp_system_with_fedora_core_6 What's the exact error message when you run yum? Do you have a working network connection?
