hi, my problem following the perfect server Debian 5, BIND, Dovecot setup is that I'm on a virtual server with a preconfigured FQDN like vadmin007. Do I have to change this setting (how? to what?) before installing ISPConfig? thanks
You have to change the hostname to be a fully qualified domain name. The steps depend on the Linux distribution and are described in the perfect setup guide for ispconfig 3.
ok, noob again, thanks. I take it you're referring to step 3 The Base System in http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-lenny-debian-5.0-with-bind-and-dovecot-ispconfig-3 How would I make this setting on a preconfigured hosted virtual server? I don't have physical access to the server.
