Hello All, First let me say thanks again in advance. It seems like I have been reading about ISPCONFIG3 & Linux servers for weeks now and I seem to be spinning my wheels. I know a "how to" or documention is not available for ISPC3 yet. Would someone be willing to kind of walk me though setting ISPC3 up. I mean I have it up and running. I followed Falco's "how to" http://http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-9.10-ispconfig-3 I am able to hit both my domains from the web. The server domain I see the "It works" page. The second domain which I added though ISPC3 I see the defualt page from ISPC3. So I think I may have done somethings right. I am a little confused about setting up the DNS. Originally I used another sites DNS for my domains records. I am now thinking I should have done the DNS though my server and the ISPC3 CP. Do I add myself and my main domain for the server to ISPC3? When I set DNS through the CP - Do I set up the nameserver to reference the added domain or should it refernce the host domain name. ie - ns1.hostdomain.com or ns1.addtionaldoamin.com I appologize for being so in the dark. I have been reading so much I am actually getting more confused. I have also thought maybe I should should scrap this setup and switch to ISPC2 because it has documentation. What do you think? Thanks, John
Thats equal. You can use a external dns or the dns server in ISPConfig, both works fine. If you want to use the dns server in ispconfig, use the dns wizard to setup the dns record. The wizard will add all nescessary records for your domain automatically.
