Getmail problem

    Debian 7 updated from 6. I am getting the following warning and error log entry.

    Oct 18 06:00:09 dog2 getmail: getmailOperationError error (no address for imap.gmail.com ([Errno -2] Name or service not known))

    I found the following thread: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/sh...ighlight=getmail:+getmailOperationError+error

    That added additional code to /usr/bin/getmail.

    Is there some other way that I am overlooking to solve this problem??

    Sees as if your server is not able to resolve names crrecly. Please check if name resolution works with:

    ping -c 1 gmail.com

    If it does not reslve the correct domain name, then check the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf.
