The error message explains that you can not use the chosen combination of options. This means you can not retrieve all emails together and do not delete emails. The simple reason for that is that it would fetch the same emails over and over again, so this combination of settings makes no sense. It will just fill your inbox with masses of duplicate emails.
Ok, not what I want to do, because I want to copy mails to new server before doing transfer, imapsync works great because it only does incremental copies, thankyou for the reply
Getmail is not a tool to transfer emails for a migration, it's a tool to regularly copy over new emails from external pop accounts. The tool to use for a migration is imapsync. Or, if both systems are Linux servers and use Maildir format like ISPConfug, then simply copy over the maildir with scp.
