Getting Started with Linux

  1. Hello,
    So I've recently got a PC and I was hoping to get some assistance with the process of being able to run Linux along side windows.
    Any help would be appreciated, as well as alternative methods to obtain my initial goal.

    Can you run Linux from that Live media successfully?
    Are you installing on the Windows Subsystem for Linux?
    What download?
    If Kali Linux does not work, try Ubuntu.
    If you want better advice, describe more where, what and how you try to install.

    To run Linux along side windows , please follow these steps :
    Step 1:- Take a backup of your system.
    Step 2:- Create space on your hard disk by shrinking windows.
    Step 3:- Create a bootable Linux USB drive / Create a bootable Linux DVD.
    Step 4:- Boot info a live version of Ubuntu.
    Step 5:- Run the installer.
    Step 6:- Choose your language.
    Step 7:- Make sure you are plugged in, connected to the internet and have enough disk space.
    Step 8:- Choose your installation type.
    Step 9:- Partition your hard disk.
    Step 10:- Choose your timezone.
    Step 11:- Choose your keyboard layout.
    Step 12:- Create default user.
    Step 13:- Complete the installation.
