Hi everyone I am tring to install gForge on an ubuntu 5.10 system but there are a few things i need to know . Mainly about CVS and if this system will work for us. We currently use ASP, and PHP as our developement languages , now im wondering how im going to make the ASP section work .Once codes been commited via CVS then what , were do i go to get the code. or can i have a extra bit of code execute to load the completed commited file up to the ASP dev server? Is this possible? or is this the best system to try and use to implement coding standards and version control within our company. Thanks Aidan
If you want version control, I recommend to use Subversion (svn) instead of cvs: http://subversion.tigris.org/ http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2002/10/31/subversion.html
Ive checked up on this product too, i dont mind what i use but if i use subversion i cant use it with gForge. So im not left with the option on what i should do as far as setting upthis work enviroment. Are there any other tools like Gforge that might be better or similer for my developers to work on?
