I installed ISPConfig and managed to get the records all messed up. Attempting to remove clients, resellers, sites worked to no avail - even after logging in to every account and "Emptying Trash". Fine, I'll rip it out and sttart over. I attemped to uninstall ISPConfig, received an error message, came to the forum and followed the instructions of what to do if an uninstall fails. (http://www.howtoforge.com/faq/14_13_en.html) I removed (rm -rf) /root/ispconfig and /home/admispconfig, verified they were gone. I went and checked MySQLAdmin and saw the data tables hadn't been dropped and removed the entire schema for ISPConfig. I wanted a totally clean state. I then reinstalled ISP Config, logged on to https://192.168.1.1.1:81 as admin, changed by password, looked over everything and all was well. I went to Services and noticed that the web server was not running. I attempted to restart Apache, got a fail message and went and checked the logs. Apache was complaing that the three sites previously set up didnot exist. In /etc/apache2/vhosts I found the "culprit" in Vhosts_ispconfig.conf. Obviously the manual "uninstall" instructions weren't correct and at least Vhosts_ispconfig.conf was left. Do I manually remove it or is it being regenerated from elsewhere? --- Russell Montgomery Corpus Christi, Texas
Vhosts_ispconfig.conf is regenerated as soon as you create your 1st website. I agree the manual cleanup instructions should probably included the removal of this file. But it's fixed as soon as you add your 1st site.
