Hello everyone, Is there an Opn Source solution that can offer similar to what Exchange 2000 server does with global addressing? I like the fact that I can create a group e-mail address at the server then make it available to my users connecting using Exchange. Thank you. - Joe
You could have a look at Evolution. I don't know if it supports Global Address Lists, but Evolution is the open-source pendant to Outlook. http://www.gnome.org/projects/evolution/
You need to create an OpenLDAP server which Thunderbird, Evolution, Mac Mail, even Outlook (with a plugin) can connect to. If you want to go the whole hog you'll need an ical server using Webdav too if you want to replace all of Exchange with Open source variants, then Postfix, Courier IMAP for all the mail functionality, something like roundcube or squirrelmail for the equivalent of OWA and Yaa! to do out of office replies. Its all do, just need a nice frontend to tie them all together!
well, Kontact could also be a good PIM to have a look at... furthermore connection to a egroupware server could be nice for common time scheduling and stuff...
