Hello, I am trying to use ISPConfig for all my DNS settings since it give me a bit more control then Godaddy. One thing I noticed from the results so far, is that one client of mine who I have not moved from Godaddy gets better results emailing Hotmail then my ISPConfig account. Here is a dig of that account Now here is a dig of another account that is set with Godaddy but uses ISPConfig DNS I have been working on this for a week or so. The SPF came after this situation was noticed in hopes that it may help. Alot of people mention Reverse DNS and that my "ISP" needs to report my names to their providers? But it is a dedicated server hosting company so not sure if it really is there responsibility? Thanks for any advice. Al
The reverse record has to be set by your server hsoting company. Just tell them to set a reverse record for the IP of your server pointing to the full qualified hostname of the server.
Thanks Til - would they do this for ALL RECORDS or just that final records that it comes down to? For example if there is a url call intranet.ffipp.org do they need to add that or just server1.rivervalleywebdesign.com (the name you get when you run a reverse dns test) which is what all the IPs come down to 207.158.15.169 207.158.15.170 etc OR ns1.rivervalleywebhosting.com ns2.rivervalleywebhosting.com Which are the DNS servers?????
