Some time ago, I grew the VMware disk where I installed Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS from 200GB to 250GB
Unfortunately, I did not account for the fact that the system was LVM and had an encrypted / partition.
The question is: what's the best way to use the unallocated 50GB at the end of the extended partition?
    THX!

Not sure how to grow an encrypted partition. But maybe you could just add a new partition there and mount it so you can use it separately for your backup tmp dir and maybe other data storage?

Looks ok, but I've never tried that, so I can't say if these steps are correct.
