Hi, i just installed a Centos 4.4 on a vm machine and the virtual disk go crazy.. its reading/writing (who knows) and it doesnt seems to stop.. the question is, is there any way to know the process making all this job? the hdparm command sends me read/write times, i dont need that, i know its just hard working because i can see the light on the vmware desktop and the other vm (fedora 4) works great. But a "Timing cache reads" of 4Mb on 277.08 seconds is NOT a good performance for a dedicated server. Any hint? Thanks !
Maybe you must try another guest operating system version when you create the virtual machine in VMware?
I guess it was a memory issue, it seems that a plain based linux with ispconfig doesnt run on a virtual machine with only 256mb, it worked fine with 512 Anyway, my question remains, is there any way to know witch daemon/program/system/whatever access the hard disk on real time? Thanks !
