Ok what I have is a suse10 64bit system with a sata raid card with 3 hard drives. Two hard drives a raided together with raid 1 and have partitions of / and /boot and the other sata hard drive is a stand alone drive with partitions of /tmp.

The /tmp hard drive has failed and all I can get into is the command line interface.

    1) How do I swap the hard drive for another sata drive and make it /tmp

    2) OR swap it for an ide drive and make it /tmp.

    Thanks for any help

Never mind I found what I was looking for.

    1) Put new disk in and make a new partition
    2) format the partition
    3) Change the /etc/fstab if needed to reflect new drive

And then on a reboot it should all work.
