I have a RAID1 mirror setup on a new server with two 400GB drives. During bootup, I get a message that the RAID1 is present at 372GB. When running the CentOS 5.2 "Perfect Server" procedure, at the part where you setup the partitions, it is showing the two drives when I would expect it to show one volume - unless I am not understanding it correctly. How do I proceed from here?
It appears that CentOS does not have the correct driver available for the onboard RAID I am using. Rather than spending $100+ on a PCI RAID controller, I shall resort to software RAID. Does anyone have any good or bad exp on s/w RAID w/CentOS?
My hardware raid worked just fine, however I've never experienced problems with CentOS and software raid. It is the Community ENTERPRISE Operating System It's what it's made to do
