    Hi!

I have a webhost that I access to it remotely using Putty.

Today when I tried to logon as root it answered to me that access was denied. Then I logon as normal user, but when I try to do su - it shows me "incorrect password".

It is evident that somehow the root password has been changed.

    Now, my question is:

How can I recover my root password using only my remote access and my user login ? Is it possible ?

The OS running on the webhost is the Fedora Core 4.

    Thanks in advance.

If You've only got remote access to that machine then You should contact technical support and ask to recover the root password for You.
I think this is the best way of doing things like that without the risk of remotly messing anything.
